Safety Razor - ShaveUp™

Safety razors have been forgotten in favor of disposable plastic razors (yes, the plastic industry may seem economical at first, but it makes us buy the same product over and over, every week, month, or year...). 

Safety razors have been around much longer than these new shavers with moisturizing strips, and they are far superior. Characterized by their use of a single stainless steel blade that is replaced by unscrewing the razor head (more details in our videos), they are made from much more durable materials and are designed to last a lifetime.

Often misunderstood or associated with misconceptions like, "You can cut yourself with it," or "It's for men"... a safety razor actually offers the smoothest shave you'll ever experience. Thanks to the work we've done at ShaveUp, we’ve adapted the razor head so that it can be used on the body (remember that safety razors are old and were often designed for men's faces...).

Good question! You might have seen similar razors for sale, but as you might suspect, they’re nothing like ours.

Why?

• They aren’t made the same way and aren’t of the same quality. This means they rust or break very quickly. ShaveUp is a razors that lasts a lifetime!

• You’re more likely to cut yourself with other razors! We’ve worked hard to design a much safer razors head to bring the number of cuts down to zero. That’s right, no more of the safety shavers myth where you get cut with every stroke.

Many of you were afraid at first, but a lot of you have told us that, in the end, it’s actually safer than a regular razor. Surprising, right?

So, as the name suggests, it’s a safety razor, which sounds a bit intimidating, but compared to other safety razors, we’ve worked to enhance the safety of the razor head, reducing the number of cuts to zero. So unlike others, you won’t cut yourself with ours.

Let’s take the shaving experience of Charlotte, the co-founder of ShaveUp, as an example to help you understand the durability of our blades.

Typically, Charlotte shaves every 4 days (though sometimes she waits a bit longer). She changes the blade every 2 months at a minimum, but she’d say closer to 3 months since she takes good care of it. With 1 pack of 20 blades (included), she has enough for 5 years of shaving (which is amazing, lol). But if you shave every day (giving you about 30 days of shaving per blade), you’ll have about 2 years of shaving! Two years of shaving will cost you exactly $3.60 with the 20-blade pack. But with the 100-blade pack that lasts 10 years (or more), you’ll be shaving for just $2.40 per year!

Now, if we consider Charlotte’s case, if she buys the 100-blade pack, she’ll use 4-5 blades per year, giving her 20 years of shaving already covered 😅. For someone who shaves every day, that’s around 10 years. Nothing more economical and eco-friendly 🥰.

However, once again, depending on your usage and how you care for your razor (never rinsing it...), you may need to change your blade more often. In general, if you feel that the shave is becoming uncomfortable, it’s time to change the blade.

Yes! You can shave your bikini area, underarms, etc. But let’s be honest—just like with a “regular” razor, you need to be gentle in these areas. But you already knew that.

Our razors are specifically designed to resist water and, most importantly, rust (unlike some poor-quality safety razors...). You can easily leave it in your shower, but be aware that depending on where you live, the water might have a high limestone content. In that case, we recommend cleaning it a bit more often (simply open the razor head where the blade is and rinse it).
